Between Systems
Social Leadership Daily - Day #869
At the intersection of formal (structural) systems, human (social) ones, and technological (including AI), we operate as Social Leaders. Standing within a landscape, looking around at these varied landscape features, and charting a path.
There is a language of observation, of cartography, of motion, orientation, of carrying things between spaces, of navigating boundaries, but much of this in small ways. Leadership in the smallest of actions.
This is leadership beyond one system, between systems. Holding certain formal authority, enabled by certain technology, and belonging within certain social tribal structures. Within trust and beyond it. Within structure and beyond it. Connected radically by technology, and redefined by it.
Take time today to consider where you lead: as part of your job, your identity, your obligations, your desires or needs.
Social Leadership is to lead with authority, but founded upon different platforms. To lead within a remit we are given, but also one that we have to find for ourselves. To look around, to understand the landscape, to take action. And then to do so again. Leadership through small steps, in dialogue with our practice.
