I cleared out the garage at the weekend: there were endless bits of wood and old tools, things that i could not bring myself to throw away, but which i was clearly never going to need or fix.
It’s all gone now: my final act was the sweep out the empty space with an old and broken broom, before consigning that to the skip as well.
