The misattribution of cause is a common mistake: we do things, things happen, and we assume we caused the outcome.
Many situations are complex, especially the human social ones that Organisations exist within.
Effect may not relate directly to one cause and one cause alone.
Change happens, but quite how can be a paradox.
Use your sixty seconds today to think of a time when you have directly driven change, and a time when you have been swept up in it, but not necessarily as a driver.
Even when change is directly attributable, it’s often only possible due to context, which may be beyond our control.
Indeed, if we were objective we may find that misjudgement and mistake are more common drivers of change than simply intent and direct action.
