Day #149

Rules

We use rules to govern systems, but inherent in that idea is the fact that all rules are made up. And some should be unmade.

What confounds us is that not all rules are written, and even for those that are, the exact relationship between a specific rule, and a specific outcome, is not always clear. So we tend to keep them all.

Use your sixty seconds today to think about a rule that should be torn up. If you cannot think of one, ask someone else.

It’s probably harder with social rules, which are otherwise known as conventions, or simply habits.

As with many of the changes that we may need to make, to adapt, the conception is simple, the execution hard.
