Day #150

Sharing

As Social Leaders in practice, we can think about what we share, and how we share it.

Sharing is not simply about giving gifts: it can be about forging common bonds and goals, and acting with collective rather than individual power.

We can share resources, but also our time. We can share power, influence, or access to our networks. We can share our fears and uncertainty, but also our goals and dreams. We can share trust and hatred, pride and curiosity.

Sharing is not equal, when the thing we share is finite: by sharing with you i may have nothing left to share with others, so we must be mindful of what, when, and how, we share, and whether sharing may be unfair if only by omission.

Use your sixty seconds today to think about sharing: what is the most important thing anyone has shared with you - last week, or in your life!

Was it advice, opportunity, time, space, or something else?

This week on Social Leadership Daily, as we explore our Social Leadership in Practice, we will be thinking about the ways that we share.
