This week we are exploring ‘sharing’ in Social Leadership: what we share, how, and why. Today, let’s consider the ways we share ‘opportunity’.
This may be in terms of sharing job opportunities, or internal opportunities to engage in a project or secondment, or it may be about sharing the opportunity to have your voice heard in a new space, or to challenge in a safe way.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider how you can share opportunity.
Perhaps you can arrange an informal (or formal) lunch session or coffee chat that exposes people to different layers of the organisation - so those who are senior can hear different voices, and those who are junior can build connection.
Perhaps you can take part of a project you run and create space for someone else to shape, oversee, or deliver, a small part of it - giving them both freedom and responsibility.
Perhaps you can help someone who is seeking a job - or even actively talk to someone who trusts you to encourage them to think about their broad progression, opportunity, and legacy.
