You cannot change everything, but you can change something.
In the Quiet Leadership work i explored the idea of the Organisation as Ecosystem, and it’s that space that we will move through this week.
Use your 60 seconds today to look around you: what do you see that you like, what do you tolerate, and what do you dislike?
I’ll have a go at this myself: what i like is that for the last couple of years i’ve found a stronger connection to my local community - being forced to be here has resulted in me feeling more ‘at home’ here. I like that and hope it continues.
What i tolerate is dropping reading: when i’m at all busy, i lose my time to read. I don’t like it, but i continue to do it, so i guess i tolerate it.
What i dislike is email: a constant stream of messages, only a minority of which seem relevant, and which often distract me or drain energy.
When i think about the things i can do this week, i can consider which of these spaces it impacts: even something simple like taking time to unsubscribe from emails, or creating an automated rule, will make a small change in my ecosystem, with a legacy that will continue over time,
It allows me to ensure that one thing i do this week improves my local part of the ecosystem.
No video today as i’ve woken up with a headache! If you are enjoying Social Leadership Daily, please consider sharing it. If you have feedback, please get in touch.
