Day #175

Strength

The memory of what we were is a powerful thing, but may trap us in legacy.

We may believe that the legacy is a strength, but that rather depends what it is, and how it is held.

A legacy that holds pride in historic action, rather than contemporary capability, may hold us rigid when we need agility. But equally a legacy of pride may give us strength to draw upon as we find the courage to change.

This week we have been considering regeneration, and our role as Social Leaders within it.

Use your sixty seconds today to consider the type of memory that your Organisation holds: is it a dynamic pride that gives you strength today, or is some of it an archived version that simply tells tales of yesterday?

Regeneration is about the maintenance of capability, through injury or change, but it’s a dynamic process, not simply fossilisation.
