Yesterday David commented that the videos gave him a greater sense of belonging. On reflection, i realised that making them gave me a sense of belonging too. We’ve talked about this before: what does it mean ‘to belong’?
Most people describe that ‘belonging’ is important: it’s a judgement upon our connection, and if we believe we share enough in common (be that values or need), we may feel that we belong here.
If we feel we belong, we are more likely to share, and to support, although there is a flip side that we may be less likely to challenge (even when challenge is needed).
Use your sixty seconds today to consider what ‘belonging’ gives you, and what you lose when it is absent.
To some extent video bridges the gap between ‘being’ together in person, or being together around ideas (whilst physically apart). When we ‘see’ each other, we deem it more authentic a connection.
