Day #183

Connection

Whilst i tried to be organised and catch up with various people this week, i realise that many of my connections have been fortuitous and unplanned. Just walking around the conference let me to over a dozen conversations with people who had been at my session, and others who knew me from my writing or elsewhere.

This is, of course, one of the reasons why we sense that there is innate value in being in an office, but that is perhaps to miss the point: the value does not come from the office being a place where ‘work is done’, so much as being a place where ‘connection happens’. Often when i am not ‘working’.

Use your sixty seconds today to consider this: where does your connection happen.

If you like, you can also think about where you work, and how those two spaces overlap.
