Day #188

Values

We talk about ‘values’ as if they are universal, but they are not. Both good people, and the people we perceive to be ‘bad’ have values. They may even use the same words to describe them. And yet there is a difference between us.

Some people we like, others we do not. Some people act in ways we approve of, and others act in ways we find to be toxic.

Use your sixty seconds today to consider why this is.

Do we judge people according to our intuition, or graded against some universal scale?

Are you ever wrong in your judgement, and if so, how do you ever find out?

Our values may comfort us, help us to believe that we do good - but are they immutable, or contextually changeable?
