I’m in Bristol today, a city famed for it’s graffiti. Here, instead of being hidden away, it’s a very visible part of the culture. Welcomed, celebrated, not simply tolerated.

This is a space of sanctioned subversion: spaces to share oppositional stories, or unconstrained narratives. Spaces of protest.

Use your sixty seconds today to consider the spaces where you share your stories of difference or dissent.

Are they all ‘permitted’ spaces, or do you sometimes need to claim the space when you need it?

Is there space in your organisation for cultural graffiti, or are the walls always scrubbed clean?

You can read more of my work about graffiti here.
