Part of being ‘in practice’ is to take action, and periodically we will use our sixty seconds a day to do just that.
Here are some ideas of things that you can do today:
1. Carry yourself into a new space, physical or virtual - a community, a group, a street, a room or corridor, an idea or domain. This could be as simple as going there to listen.
2. Start a new conversation - it could be something you are curious about, uncertain about, angry about, or passionate about, which may be all the same thing!
3. Reach out in gratitude - this is a mainstay of Social Leadership - reach out to someone to say ‘thanks’ and add context: thank you for this thing - it enabled me to do this - it let me feel that etc.
4. Talk about belonging - find someone in your team or area and talk to them about belonging - what do you both feel that you belong to - how are you connected, beyond contracts, what does this connection give you?
5. Let something go: an argument, conflict or fear, some clutter from your office, something in your diary, an uncertainty or self doubt, a belief that has outlived it’s time. You may want to talk this over with someone else to achieve it.
Have a great weekend!
