Today is a bit different: i’m trying some new imagery for Social Leadership Daily: when i started this publication, i went with the ‘newspaper’ idea. This new identity is a stamp: kind of playing with the idea that we leave a mark, put a stamp on the system, and ‘stamp’ things in and out of an inbox - very practical and day to day. Hopefully not too bureaucratic!
One of the things i love about this space is that it’s still very small and informal (and i hope will always be informal!), so i feel it’s ok to play with these things.
I was looking at a site yesterday that had all the branding, all the assets, very polished, very smart. And thinking that none of my work is like that: it’s all sketched, it tends to all be in motion, very fluid, very incomplete really. But i kind of like that.
It take me back to thinking about what it means to be ‘In Practice’ - not to be perfect, but to constantly working on ourselves.
In Quiet Leadership i talk about ‘grace’ - gracefulness of our action. It comes from work i did with dancers and choreographers exploring how they find fluidity within a system. I like that idea.
That we can be imperfect, yet graceful.
