Day #228

Action Day

Today is an Action Day: part of being ‘In Practice’, which is what this space is about, is to explore ideas, and to reflect, together, but part is to put things into action. So put down this email and take action:

  1. Our old favourite: reach out in gratitude - to say ‘thank you’, and to add the context of ‘why’

  2. Find a difference: find a conversation of difference, or explore a new topic with an old friend. Use this to discover a new aspect of a stable relationship.

  3. Give something up: this can be anything… something cluttering your desk, an email you have been avoiding, an old pot plant on it’s last legs. Leave today with one thing cleared out.

  4. Start something: anything you have been putting off? A new book or a new habit - maybe today is the day?

  5. Stop being busy: ok, not forever, but for sixty seconds. Stop. Breathe.

  6. Look down: find someone who is following your path, someone coming up, and offer them something - an ear, a story, a resource, a connection, an opportunity, a space.

These are small things - ok so starting a new thing may be big, but it doesn’t have to start that way! Leadership in the smallest of actions. Leading down.

Have a great weekend! In case you have not seen it, ‘The Identity Project’ is now live - the first three stories shared, exploring aspects of the ‘self’ in our identities.
