On my way to London today: what was a weekly activity now feels exceptional, and something like hard work. In fact today, it is harder work.
River is very keen to help with my work: he toddles into my office quite regularly and sincerely asks if he can help, or do my work for me (in the sly hope that this will mean i can build a railway with him afterwards).
As i sit on the train today, i discover that he has ‘helped’ me by adding some stones into my backpack.
So as my stones and i continue our commute, it made me think about the ways that we help each other.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider what you assume, and what you ask, in terms of the help that you give.
This partly ties into something we explore in the Quiet Leadership work: is it the intention that counts in kindness, or the impact. My son intended to be kind, even though the nett effect is somewhat heavy
