Day #256

Cultural Speed Limits

In a culture interview yesterday, someone said “The maximum speed allowed is the one that is slow enough for sustainable growth and change”. There is a paradox in this: ‘sustainable growth’ implies an extension or perpetuation of the current culture, whilst change may imply that some of it is broken or left behind.

The speed we travel may either overwhelm the old, or underwhelm the new.

Use your sixty seconds today to consider what speed your culture travels at?

Does it go fast, too fast, or too slow? Or is it just comfortably ok? Or does it not travel or move at all?

Culture, as a phenomena generated between people, is of course a dynamic narrative, but the notion of speed is a useful one. What would the speed limit be, for a safe or scaling culture
