Day #258

Seasons

I took the roof tent off the Land Rover over the weekend: camping season is pretty much done (at least when camping with a baby it is!) as the temperatures drop and the evenings start to close in. It’s kind of a sad moment as the weather is still pretty good and next Spring seems far away!

But the seasons change and with each change we need to prepare: unpacking winter clothes, sorting things out, getting ourselves ready.

The Seasons are at least regular: there is a tempo to their change and actually one of the side effects of the lockdowns over the last two years was that i felt more connected to them: i think because i had spent so much time travelling over the years before, i had lost something of the local connection one feels of seeing the same trees change colour and grow, and the temperatures moving up and down.

Use your sixty seconds today to consider the seasons, but not the ones of the world. The seasons of your Organisations: what happens regularly (performance reviews, end of year, outbreaks or parties) and how do you prepare?

And what is irregular, unpredictable or falls as a shock to the system?
