Where do you lead?

In the context of the Social Age, we lead at the intersection of formal and social systems.

The formal system is everything that the Organisation gives you: computers, contracts, cars, systems, processes and money.

The social system is everything that surrounds it: namely, you, me, and the ways that we trust and know each other.

The formal system is everything that you see, own, and control, and social system is people, in all their weird and wonderful glory.

So where do you lead? 

Use your 60 seconds today to reflect upon that question, because the answer may indicate your development, and your opportunity.

Formal leaders may earn social authority, and social leaders may earn formal power.
