‘The Humble Leader’ is published this week! So i hope you’ll forgive me for taking today to mention this work. It’s been quite a journey to get here!
In the research for the Quiet Leadership work, people overwhelmingly stated that they value ‘humility’ in leadership, but when asked to say what it actually was, opinions were more diverse.
Whatever it is, they believed it’s an active process of reflection and sense making, not simply thinking about things, or hoping for them. Humility is seen as something that is earned, and awarded by a community. It’s more a judgement upon your actions than anything that can be demanded.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider why humility matters, if indeed it matters at all.
And if so, where do you see it in the system that surrounds you?
