Day #285 - Holding You Back?

The Judgement of Others

I shared new work this week from the ‘Learning Science Guidebook’ that i’m writing, but did so with some trepidation. It’s detailed work, quite complex, and i have not yet found the simple path. So i worried how it would land.

This worry caused me to prevaricate a bit, to hold back, and then to push it out in a rush.

Use your sixty seconds today to consider how you feel about, or sometime fear, the judgement of others. Or perhaps you don’t: is it a matter of confidence, or self interest, or common sense?

Similarly, how do you think others, especially those in your team or below you in the formal structure, experience your judgement. Do you ever hold people back, not through your actions, but their expectations of you?

And can you do anything to ease that?
