Beyond Your Control

This week we are exploring your Power as a Social Leader.

Use your 60 seconds today to consider ‘what lies beyond your control?’

All power has edges, none is absolute. But do you know where the edges of your power lie? And if you carry more than one type of power, do they all operate in the same space, or do some reach further?

For example: your authority as a member of your family probably ends at the edges of your family relationships, and your authority as a formal leader ends at the door of the organisation.

But where does your reputation lie?

And what about your authenticity?

If things lie beyond your formal power, can be they achieved through other means?

We inhabit a complex web of power: some of these forces compliment each other, whilst others negate each other.

But we all have limits.
