I attended a session about ‘writing’ last week. We learnt about perfection: about carefully testing and shaping your story. About polishing the narrative and proofing your work.
Naturally i hated it.
Writing may be polished and polite, but equally should be angry and incoherent. It should be where we protest and complain, celebrate and commiserate. It should be all emotions.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider how polished and perfect your everyday spaces are.
And to consider if your culture is too perfect. Do you have enough space to dissent?
Can you hear all the voices you need to hear?
Our community for Social Leadership Daily is neither polished, nor perfect. We are ‘In Practice’. Stumbling our way forwards, but with an intent to be reflective, and to take the right action. We are learning to be our better selves.
