I’m aware that i missed saying ‘goodbye’ to a few people at the conference last week: you know what’s it’s like - everyone is there, and then everyone is drifting off, and somewhere in the mix you say ‘see you later’, and then you don’t.
Saying goodbye is not just for conferences though: it’s a good practice within our communities too. Nothing lasts forever, and like a good party, when it’s done, it’s done. So say goodbye and thanks.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider a community, which you no longer need.
Then leave: either silently or with a ‘goodbye’.
And remember, if it’s a goodbye, then it’s worth mentioning what you learnt, or took away from it.
