Day #396 - Reputation again…

Separation of spaces

Yesterday we considered how we know others by their reputation. Today, look inwards.

Use your sixty seconds today to consider what your own reputation is, and in particular, how contextual it is.

Do people know you from your actions at work, from your role, your job, or do elements of your personality or broader life inform this story?

How much does your reputation carry between different spaces, or does it tend to be very separate?

In the Identity Project research, people tended to describe quite high levels of separation - indeed, many of them described how they were only ‘safe’ because of that separation. Possibly we enjoy the separation of our tribal spaces as a way of keeping these stories apart, allowing us to be different people at different times?
