I’m fitting out a campervan at the moment, so my weekend was spent with wood and screws, sawing and cutting, and at the end of it i had something to show for it. An artefact, made by my own hands.
It was very satisfying, but not my first effort.
The previous weekend i had also made something, but something that failed: i had not made it with sufficient care, so it did not fit well and was riddled with mistakes.
It was where i learned, partly what to do, and partly how not to do it.
