I’ve headed off this week to an AirBnB by the sea to get some writing done for the Doctorate (with much gratitude to my partner for looking after the children as i do so). The space allows me to focus - and hence whilst i’ve decided to share posts here this week, they are text only!
Focus is not the same as productivity: i may spend the week staring at books, or an empty page. I’ve got ideas in my head, but they are nebulous, not formulated. This, perhaps, is the space where i can look at the cloud and see the shape.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider focus: what it is, when you need it, and who lets you have it. Or how you claim it. Or what it costs you.
Nice! I've just finished reading "Stolen Focus" by Johann Hari, which I highly recommend. So interesting to consider a really broad view of what attention and focus really are and what the knock-on effects of a lack of it have on us as individuals and on society as a whole.
