Tension, Dereliction or Something Else?

I’ve stepped away from writing for a few hours to explore nearby Ramsgate town and harbour: it’s a typical town in transition - still a working harbour, but also a seaside resort. Under the arches by the piers every other doorway leads to a chandlers or harbour office, separated by bars, bike shops and a chocolate cafe. The old and the new.
