It’s ok to be selfish, at least in certain contexts.
Our actions, our investment, into our communities, all requires effort, resource, time. It can exhaust us.
Sometimes we need to turn the light inwards and look towards our self: to recharge, to reflect, to renew.
Not because we lack the desire to help and support others, but rather because we need to maintain the foundations to do so.
That being said: being selfish is different than causing harm. Even when we look inside, we should be mindful of the shadows that we cast, and to consider who bears the cost of our introspection.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider this: how can you be selfish, and what does it cost?
