It’s my first day back from holiday, and predictably it’s a blur of meetings and catch ups. I have had to learn not to be too ambitious on the first day: it’s easy to think you will change the world, but then spend the first hour waiting for Teams to update.
I do feel a bit more rested, but primarily i am reminded of context. The break from the day to day has broken some idle habits that were forming, and left me with a bit more clarity on the broader picture.
I have found it easier to be curious, and to step back.
I am reminded that the journey has many steps. I do not have to take them all today.
Use your sixty seconds today in idle reflection. What is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it task based, or driven by curiosity?
It is possible to be too busy, and the price for that may be the insight and energy we need to truly be effective.
