I was in Venice at the weekend, and did not know anyone. Plus i was quite under the weather. Last thing at night i grabbed an obligatory slice of pizza, to eat in the cold. The chap who sold it to me looked at me, then insisted that i come inside, and we talked for a while. He was Moroccan, and i’ve travelled there, so we shared stories.
It was a very welcome act of kindness and connection.
Use your sixty seconds today (and i know it’s late… i’m still under the weather!) to think about someone who gave you shelter when you needed it. And who you shelter.
