Starting back to work has been a slow affair: clearing my office desk of wrapping paper and gift receipts, watering the plants, making two coffees in rapid succession, and carefully circumnavigating the inbox, lest I have to engage in actual work.
My feelings are mixed: excitement and clarity around some key projects - the Planetary book, a new Social Leadership book, the final stages of the doctorate, and some upcoming workshops - as well as trepidation, as I fear the pressures of work imposing upon, and ultimately thwarting, the energy I carry today.
That may sound fatalistic, but the experience is the same each year: starting with intention, and falling back into habits - both highly productive, as well as highly distractive.
I am - as we all are - a work in progress.
Today though, use your sixty seconds to hold your intention. What kind of Social Leader will you be this year?
We have a lot of new people in this community, who joined over the holidays: whoever you are, wherever you sit, you are very welcome in this space. We are a community in dialogue with our practice, sixty seconds a day.
