I went through the manuscript for the Planetary Philosophy book yesterday, adding very short section intros. Just a line or two for each, but they connected the whole piece together more strongly. They formed a bridge.
At times, this is the action we take as Social Leaders. Not originating stories, not directing action, but rather connecting - very gently - between things.
This may mean that we connect people to ideas (or to each other), or that we carry a story forwards into a new space. It may be about convening a community, or moving between communities.
It’s small, but connective, action, and the addition of context.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider a small story that you have woven this week. Between two people, two spaces, two things.
It could be a time you spoke of someone by their reputation, or you carried an idea from one space to another.
Leadership can consist of very big actions, but equally, it can be held in the very smallest of things, and especially those things that weave stronger connection. This is leadership as motion, through story, at the intersection of systems.
