I may do this every time it happens…
Someone came up to me today, at an event, and said that they are part of this Community.
Our Community.
Of Social Leaders, around the world, engaged in this ongoing dialogue with our practice.
Why am I mentioning this? Mainly to share with you how much I love it when this happens, how much energy this gives me.
Because it sounds like we are sharing a secret, a membership, a sense of belonging. Because we are saying that we are a part of something.
Some of you are here because you know me, from one context or another. Some are here because someone shared this with you, or recommended it (thank you!). I know that some of you are here to hide, shelter or find safety - because some of you have told me this.
But many of use have never met, at least not in what we used to call ‘real life’, so I could sit next to you on a train, in a restaurant, on a plane, and never know. Unless you told me.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider what gives you energy: and whether the amount of energy is related to the size of the thing.
For me, a quick ‘hello’, and a shared connection, gives me a disproportionate boost!
And remember: whoever you are, however you turn up, whether winning and loud, introvert or in company, wherever you are in the world, you are very welcome in this space. In our Community.
