I walked through the city late last night, after travelling up for a Workshop today. Having checked into my hotel I was restless, so went walking. Not hungry enough for dinner, but too hungry to sleep. Too tired to work, but not tired enough to sleep well.
I passed a noodle bar, where a woman was shutting up shop, taking in the chairs, and we just happened to get talking. Nothing of any importance: just about the weather, how busy it had been and the theatre next door. Having revealed that I was a little hungry, she conspiratorially offered to make me up some noodles, and refused to take money for them.
It was an act of kindness that I greatly appreciated.
Use your sixty seconds today in an act of kindness.
Remember: this work is about leadership in the smallest of actions, so your act of kindness should be as small as you can make it, but should be more than simply an intention.
It could be a word of gratitude, an act of listening, giving something away, taking something away, leaving something behind.
