I’m facilitating a workshop today on the ‘Organisation as Ecosystem’, part of a five part programme on Social Leadership. Over time I’ve become more comfortable using far fewer materials, and far lower structure, in my work.
In the early days - and I must apologise if you were in these early sessions - I would talk a lot! I guess partly because I was still figuring out what to say, and partly because I was worried about silence.
Today, I’m very comfortable with space and silence, and use both of them widely in both my written and presented work (books with space for graffiti, and lots of space for conversation in my workshops - as well as using silence to provoke ideas!).
Use your sixty seconds today to consider how you use space, and silence, in your work, if at all.
We each have our own context: for me, right now, it works. But maybe not forever. I may revert to talking more…
I hope you’re having a great week so far.
