One of my friends passed her viva yesterday, celebrating the end of her doctoral journey. A number of our cohort have now made this milestone, and there is a definite sense that our group is evolving. One day, when everyone has made it, it will become something else.

Imagine where you ‘found’ it, how many people are ‘in’ it, and what you take from it (as well as what it costs you to be a member).
Communities are fluid and contextual social structures, bonded not only by trust, but also other Social Currency of pride, or even fear. But they are the structures within which the ‘social’ part of leadership occurs.
