I’ve been at Learning Technologies conference in London these last two days, and it’s always a pleasure just walking around and meeting people: three if you from this community said hello, and I can’t tell you how much energy that gives me. I feel like we need a secret handshake or pin badge!
It also gave me a chance to say ‘thank you’ to Tom, who has been a kind supporter of my work over the years, and I know a number of you are here through a referral from his own SubStack site.
I was talking to him about how this space has evolved - for me at least - and that it has something of a ‘diary’ feel to it. But ‘diary with community’. I try to use our Social Leadership work as the scaffolding that runs through it, but I am unable to disentangle my ‘self’ from the journey. And perhaps I have stopped worrying about that.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider where you share your story, and how.
It could be the story you share on a resume, the story of your reputation, the story you share with a friend as you catch up after too long. The story you share in ‘formal’ spaces, where you curate how you wish to be seen, or with your oldest friend, who has seen you at your most vulnerable.
We are creatures of story, and live within story. Thank you for helping me to write this one.
Your work and words, along with your approach to sharing uncertainty, have consistently inspired me to adopt new ways of thinking and acting. They serve as a guiding buoy, helping me navigate the challenges of both my personal and professional life. This post is truly inspiring!
