It’s a settled day at home, what feels like the first for a while. And I have tasks piled up, both important, and everyday admin (by which I mean ‘important’, but not exciting). But I started the day with some yoga, and baking.
Both these things are a waste of time: they delay the start of the day, and are hard to focus on when the ‘important’ stuff is on my mind. But I’ve learnt that they are also somewhat meditative, and set me up for the best day I can have.
If I say ‘I will leave them till the evening’, then they never happen. I just stay busy all day, or flake out.
Balance can be about sprinting, walking, and resting. Moving and breathing.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider this: how do you stop, when are you still?
I realise that the answer may be ‘never’, and sometimes that is our truth. But what do you lose by always being in motion?
For me, I lose the time when I make connections, and ground myself.
