Forgive me not writing yesterday: I was very late back from Munich and a tight turnaround to head out again for an event this week. I wasn’t that I couldn’t have made time, but rather the shifting context - the planning - and the move from one body of work to another left me rather running around in circles.
Three days in the mountains was fantastic: we got a great deal of writing done. In fact, we completed the full manuscript for the Planetary Philosophy - or at least ready for our first round of review.
I’m extremely proud of the book, but my goodness me the last few days were a challenge! The final bits of editing are always hard, and for this we had a section on religion, and one on citizenship that both needed work - and we could not agree what work they needed.
It’s through this creative tension that the best outcomes are forged, but hence my head being full yesterday.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider the role of tensions in your leadership.
Between you and others, between contexts, between deadlines, between accountability.
And which of those help you deliver your best work, as opposed to simply frustrating or derailing you?
I think this is a great topic to journal on and ponder. Your topics Julien would make great meat for Leadership courses.
