Day #815 - Convening
Skills and Capability
I’m heading to London to facilitate the next Strategic AI workshop tomorrow. It’s a really smart group of people, and I love these sessions as they are highly collaborative, and challenging.
The act of convening is central to my work, but not convening to perform: these are typically co-creative, vulnerable and sharing spaces, sense making, together.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider the role of convening in your own leadership.
This may be as simple as regular Team meetings, or it may be with ad hoc huddles, communities of practice, or lunchtime book clubs.
Sometimes this work is ‘within’ the system, in plain sight, and at others it’s hidden away, or even necessarily subversive.
This I not simply about the role of community in Social Leadership and our practice, but rather about our specific capability to convene, so it may relate more directly to storytelling and sharing, as well as how we trade in trust, and hold the boundaries of a space
.
