Day #817 - Connection
And Community
When I talk about this work, this community in dialogue with our practice, I often talk about it as ‘me, you, and the story we share’. The idea that each of us is only doing the smallest of things, and only for sixty seconds a day, but that we do so within a shared narrative.
Fundamentally it touches on the idea of the Organisation as Ecosystems, and how that system is changed - when neither you, nor I, have the strength, power, or position to change the whole thing.
We know we suffer when the environment is degraded and yet none of us individually can make it healthy. Only through individual action, and a shared narrative, can we thrive.
It’s not that we give each other the answer (although within a community we may well share ideas) - but more that understand we are not alone - that we are part of something - that we are connected, not in a formal, structural sense, but though our intent, and these small actions.
In this sense, I act in my local community, you act in yours, and whilst we may never meet, and we may never visit, or be part of, each others locality - we are nonetheless connected through this story of local action, and willingness to invest.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider this: how you are connected here - not for answers, but as part of a movement.
I hope that you’ve had a great week.
