Some stories fly, whilst others fall by the wayside and die. This outcome is not always a question of the volume at which they are broadcast, so much as the channels through which they are carried, and the ways that they intersect with other, competing, narratives.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider this landscape of stories. Some question you may ask include:
How are stories amplified?
Are some stories more likely to fly than others - and if so, why?
How would you try to kill a story that you did not like?
Is the storyteller as important as the story?
Are short stories always better than long ones?
Can anyone tell a story - or if not, how is their permission or ability silenced?
We live and lead within a complex ecosystem of stories: as Social Leaders we must seek to understand how formal stories work, but also how stories are carried through social systems, and why.
