I found myself buying some cans of spray paint yesterday: not for the purposes of graffiti (which would be a noble endeavour), but rather in service of the fabrication of my son’s Christmas present, which is a story for another day.
I wanted a very specific shade of red, and struggled to pick one from the bewildering array, so i asked the chap behind the counter: he replied that i need only look at the caps, as they sprayed the caps of the cans with the actual paint - so what you saw was exactly what you would get. Not a representation of it, but the actual thing.
If only everything were so clear and easy: if only we could judge the book by it’s cover.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider any of these questions:
How are you judged? Is there a lid to your ‘can’, a cover to your ‘book’, or is it in some other way?
How do you judge others? From the outside in some other way?
Perhaps also ask if your community holds lots of shades of red, or perhaps a brilliant rainbow?
