Ecosystem Notes #25
Social Leadership Daily - Day #850
I lie on my back, next to River, looking up at the sky. Our first time lying together in the sun, the first time this year it’s been warm and dry enough. The first time without our coats.
I can see blue sky, white clouds, and a haze of green from the canopy above us.
For a long time there has been nothing, and then, all of a sudden, the buds break The branches are hued with a bright green: not yet fully clothed, but no longer bare.
A few weeks ago it was the light that was different, now it’s the colours, and the warmth in the air.
The bluebells are thick on the ground, the wild garlic waiting to flower, and the tulips in full bloom. The ivy is busy climbing, and the magnolia in blossom. I see blue tits searching for nest sites.
Spring is in the air.
