I'd like to think the key I obsess over is part of the larger key ring that will help my team more fully realize that feeling connected as a community and treating our efforts as collective ones matters, not just for making a workplace a good place but providing best practices for our tech solutions. All are aimed at helping teams work together more effectively. It's challenging, however, because there is such job insecurity in US technology companies now. So much fear that if people don't stand out on their own their position will be eliminated.

That’s a real tension - between ‘self’ and ‘system’. At the very time when we desire greater collaboration, perhaps we are driving the culture of ‘self’.
