I’m writing about Social Leadership today, taking apart the idea that we ‘unlock’ capability, the idea that there is a ‘key’ to success.
It’s playful work, but the serious point is about collective capability, where it’s not one person holding the key, but rather a collective aspect of culture. Perhaps it’s a move away from a heroic perspective of leadership - as power - through to a collective perspective.
In the illustration i’m doing, i’m showing a door with many keyholes, and many people with different keys. The idea that we can all be busy, but we can only open the door together.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider what key you carry. And what other keys you need.
We’ve explored this idea before, as part of understanding what we need within our Communities. Not more people like us, but a diverse collective capability.
