As we cycled along the beach this morning, River said to me “I will be really sad in eight days time, because Christmas will be over”, so we talked about how it’s important to enjoy what is happening right now, to be within the experience.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider how much of your time is focussed on the future, and how much time you can spend in the ‘now’.
Deadlines, obligations, fears, demands, these things can all focus our attention on specific dates and tasks, all of which may be important. But it’s also important to find a moment to recognise what is happening now: a sunrise, a conversation, an act of gratitude, or kindness, a shared experience, a discovery, a feeling, a texture, a hope.
