I’ve been sorting through the houseplants, cutting some back, and tidying them up, ready for the winter. Over the course of the year, some have thrived, some have survived, and a few I’ve killed off…

My favourite success is the little apple tres that River and I have grown from seeds we collected, and which are now dotted around the house. Bonsai testament to our green fingers (and the resilience of apple trees…).

We can consider our own leadership ecosystem, as we draw towards the end of the year. What have we nurtured, what has overgrown, what has become tangled or climbed?

Use your sixty seconds today to consider something that you have nurtured, through your leadership.

It could be a person, a think, and idea. It could be a culture, a pot plant, or a skill (for yourself or someone else).

Has your progress been measured through results, through metrics, through intuition or gut feeling?

And what has survived without your paying it any attention at all?

In our view of the Organisation as an Ecosystem, we recognise that we are inter-dependent, interlinked. Some things we directly nurture, others we simply cast shadows across. But nothing can thrive alone.
