In the Social Leadership Handbook, i wrote that the first step in Social Leadership was ‘curation’ - choosing where you stand. A deliberate act. To start by looking around you, and asking what needs to change. Then to position yourself to do so.
I think i would phrase it differently today, although i stand by the sentiment.
Social Leadership is a deliberate, and purposeful, act. It’s about change. It’s dynamic in that it relies not on a single answer, but rather on the ability to diagnose and act, repeatedly. Indeed, as with this space, it’s about a tempo of action, a restlessness.
Use your sixty seconds today on that thought: how are you restless?
What would you change? Where do you see friction? Where do you stand?
